Happy Birthday Conner!

It is somewhat surreal to watch all of our kids growing up.  We currently have 6 teenagers (in about six months we will have 9!).  Two licensed drivers, two with learner's permits (graci drove on the street for the first time yesterday.  The two of us are still alive, that's all we'll say about that.) One graduated and four more in high school.  It's really fun!

July 17 was Conner's 17th birthday.  (How cool is that?  17 on 7/17/17!)  How far he has come in the three years he's been in our family.  We love him so much!  His sense of humor and quick wit add loads of fun to our home.  It has been a joy to hear his beautiful piano music throughout our house over the past few months as his love of the piano seems to have come back.  He works hard in school and is preparing to go to college after he graduates.  The kids he at school all love him.  It's such a blessing for us as parents to see so many students come up and talk to him any time we're on campus.

Thanks, Conner, for being such a great son and for being an amazing example to all of your brothers and sisters!

Another Adult in the House!

Happy belated birthday to Taylor.  I can't believe we have raised this young man all the way to adulthood.  He is an amazing person.  Christi and I feel so grateful to have him in our lives.  As he enters his senior year of high school, we're so excited to see his life continue to unfold.  Thanks, Tay, for being you and for being one of my very best friends!

Christi took him to a birthday breakfast at one of his favorite restaurants: IHOP.

PS. He has cut his hair shorter now, but I must say I miss that look:)

More Fun Reunion Stuff

I found some more fun pics and videos from our Green Family Reunion on Christi's phone.  Yay!

Lovely Lexi Li:

He makes pink shorts look so good!
Christi and me on another visit to Thanksgiving Point.  It really is one of our very favorite places in the world!

Beauty and the Beast

On the trail to Timp Caves:

Still soundly asleep:)

And of course, every family needs an evil sister around the campfire.  I love the juxtaposition of her haunted persona with her cute giggle ;)

End of the Rainbow

I am the luckiest traveling salesman in the world.  First of all, I don't travel that much.  About one overnight per month to Southern Utah.  But the area I cover is amazing!  I have five national parks in my territory!!!  When I go overnight, I try to take in a hike or a viewpoint or something.  Earlier this month I was driving near Lake Powell and came to the end of a heavy rainstorm.  I just had to stop and take this picture:

I feel so blessed to experience such beauty.

Little Miss Photogenic

Cali loves to have her picture taken.  And she loves to pose.  She loves to look straight at the camera. She loves to look coyly to the side.  She loves to look off into the distance.  She loves to have her hair down. She loves to pull her hair back.  She loves to pose with friends.  She loves...well, you get the idea:).  PS.  She also loves to go on dates!!!

Grateful for Insurance!

I was on our insurer's website and noticed that as a family we have submitted 138 claims year-to-date!  74 medical claims and 64 prescriptions.  That doesn't include any dental, orthodontic or vision care visits, of which there have been many.  Nor does it include the three surgeries or the three wisdom teeth removals that need to be done by the end of the year.  Are you kidding me?!?

Hairy Boys

Taylor decided not to cut his hair this summer.  He let it grow out for about five months.  Parker's hair also got longer than usual.  And I grew a serious beard.  It was fun!  Here are a couple of pics so you can see just how cool we all were:)  And a video of one son bench pressing another son is always worth watching.
