Bedtime Addendum

I forgot one cute part of my missionary conversation with Xander. I was going through several of his relatives and telling him where they served missions. I told him his Uncle Danny was a missionary in Washington (state). His eyes got really big and he said, "Where hundreds of presidents live?" A mildly funny reaction, but what really hit me was the fact that this little waif from the People's Republic of China is now growing up in America and will be able to participate in a democratic process to actually have input into the laws that govern his life.

Not to mention it was an unintentional shout out to my late, great sister Tiffany. Love you, DC! Do they shear the buffalo in heaven?

  1. Funny story.. I had a really bad history teacher in school (basketball coach) so I learned nothing! When I joined the military my friend who was from Seattle was upset because she got stationed in Washington D.C. I could not understand why she was so upset... after all Washington was just right above her! She kindly broke it to me that D.C. was on the east coast.... :) all these years I thought it was in Washington state! I literally called my mom to tell her what I learned... she could not believe I didn't know this! Yes, I will remain anonymous on this one:)
