Grateful

Busy, busy, busy is the theme around here lately!  We have just over two weeks left to finish the house by the Parade of Homes and let me tell you, it will require some major miracles!!  I'm not sure how it's going to happen, but I know it's going to happen.  (:  Wrappng my head around the fact that we are going to be moving into an incredible, custom home in just a month from now is something I'm having a hard time doing.  It feels like a dream!  I am getting SOOOOO excited!  I get chills when I think about it.  We are grateful, grateful, grateful to the many wonderful people who have contributed to this huge blessing for our family!!!!!!!!  I am going to post an updated list at the end of this post-- PLEASE let me know if your name is missing!  I have tried to make it complete but I'm sure I haven't.  PLEASE don't be shy!!!  (:
Many people have asked what they can do to help as things get closer to completion.  I have an answer!  The next two Saturdays we could really use some help with planting and laying sod.  (This Saturday, planting-- next Saturday, sod.)  If that is something you'd like to help with, could you please email me so we can start to get a count?  I'm not sure on hours but I'm thinking that we could use help all day-- we have a huge yard!

Also, the home has to be fully staged for the Parade.  Most of our furniture isn't exactly Parade worthy, so we've been doing some shopping and some borrowing.  (:  One thing that we haven't come up with yet is stuff to stage the downstairs therapy/exercise room.  I know... the fact that we even have a room like this is insane!  I am thinking that two pieces of exercise equipment would do the trick-- like a treadmill and elyptical.  If anyone close by has one of these sitting around their home not being used that we could borrow for a couple of weeks, that would be awesome.  (:

This past week has been super special for Taylor and Graci.  They spent the last few days on a pioneer trek in Wyoming.  It was an incredible experience for them and I have loved hearing all of their stories.  They had some really neat faith-building experiences that strengthened their testimonies of our Savior.   I am so grateful to the wonderful leaders and volunteers that planned this trek for them.  Then today, Graci received her patriarchal blessing.  It was such a tender, sweet experience.  The spirit in the room was so strong and we felt our Heavenly Father's love for our Graci.  I guess I should say HIS Graci.

Then at church, Taylor was ordained a Teacher in the Aaronic priesthood.  That boy is turning into a man right before my eyes.  It is wonderful.  And sad.   I am so blessed to be his mom.

My heart is full.  (:

  1. Good morning guys - what a wonderful post - in particular considering our Sunday's activity...

Our split rail fence is something like a dozen years old - and several of the posts are rotting away - so one of this summer's "projects" has been to replace them. We started in the evening last week and by Sunday were about half done (and half dead - I'm not a 30 something any more!!) So -

our daughter Braelyn wondered if we could watch some of the videos from her adoption trip - the trip in which we met Jer, the boys and Graci Kate. And watch we did - several hours later - with a break in the middle so Chase could watch some of his - and we were reflecting on how far we've come - but we were also thinking about you guys a LOT! The boys were fine young men then - I'm really not surprised how they've developed today - and Graci - such a fine and lovely young woman!

We share in your joy - and love you guys to pieces!

    hugs - aus and co.

  2. I can't WAIT to see it! What an incredible blessing!

(PS Seth got double credit on the list: instead of Seth and Chelsea Miner, it should be Trent and Chelsea Miner.)

  5. Ya'll don't know me, but I've been following your blog for years now and love your family. I am in Utah for a visit, and just had to stop by and see your new house, so I did today. It is amazing! I am so happy to see such a wonderful thing being done for the BEST family!

  6. Thanks for letting us help lay sod with you on July 27th, we know the Walker Home Design people and saw their request for help. We have 4 kids with their own special needs, two of which have autism among other things. We felt this project would be one they could assist with. It is neat to be able to help a family that so willingly and lovingly took on children that needed so much love and care. Found out after helping that my husband went to school with your cousin Sheri Reynolds, she was a few years behind him in school. Facebook really makes it a smaller world, and it is wonderful to see how much love and support the world has for your family. Thanks for letting us be a small piece in your puzzle, The Freeman Family
