Studio 5 Story

I'm always a bit worried when a story is done on our family because I don't know how it will be edited/presented.  Last Monday, Studio 5 paid us a visit and met our sweet kids.   They were such great people and we enjoyed getting to know them.   The segment aired today and it can be found HERE.  They did a fantastic job.  (:

  2. Great piece! You all look fantastic! Anna always likes to look at your blog with me :). As soon as she saw Sophi in the clip, she said, "That's Sophi!" Anna wants to donate $6 for your family's house :). We'll be getting on that very soon.

  6. I've been following your blog for a while now and loved this segment. I'm friends with Christi's cousin, Nikki. What a sweet family. :) I was curious, not sure if it's ok to ask about... Christi said that she had a blood clotting disorder that caused the miscarriages but didn't say anything else about it. I found out while pregnant with our first that I have ITP/Evans Syndrome (anti-platelets/anti-red blood cell), along with some strange s-antibodies (my husband has the antigens and I don't) that made that pregnancy high risk. Our daughter came fairly healthy but with low platelets, then we had a healthy son, but we just had a miscarriage a few months ago and we're not sure why since it was early on, but we've wondered if it's because of those blood issues. I was curious if it was something related or not. We've also thought about adoption but we're still in grad school (done in 3 more years, we hope) so not sure if now's a good time to think about it or if we should wait. Anyway, if you have time or are willing to talk about it, I'm just curious what you think.

  8. That was fantastic! Christianne, I don't know how you manage to get more gorgeous every year that passes, but you do! (Jer, you're doing alright, too.) That was an incredibly thoughtful and honest look at your lives. The kids are so amazing!

  9. Love love love your blog! I just found it and think it's great - my mom was adopted, so if it wasn't for my grandparents being so selfless, I wouldn't be here! I do want to know though why you have separated your kiddos on your side bar...it'd be so cute if you had them in age order, not bio then adopted! maybe it's just me! haha

    1. Glad you like the blog:) Our kids provide and endless supply of fun stories! Your question is a great one. We group our children in different ways to help all of them feel important. Sometimes we go in age order. Sometimes we go in acquisition order. Sometimes we go youngest to oldest. Sometimes we start in the middle and work outward. Here, we have listed the children in acquisition order to help the reader get a feel for how the children have entered our lives and how long they have been with us. We don't think of it as biological vs. adopted. It's just how long each child has been a part of our lives. If we had a biological baby tomorrow, she would be at the bottom of the list. Of course, each child knows that where they're listed has no correlation to how much they are loved:)
