A day at a time...

We used to go over the whole week's schedule during family council on Sunday. That worked great, until several Sundays ago, where I started hyperventilating before we even got to Wednesday on the calendar. Now we have this nifty little system where we go over the next day's schedule as we're climbing into bed. Much better. That way, days like tomorrow (6:30 a.m. MRI for Lexi, EEG for Lexi, driving carpool, Sophi's therapy, school carnival, sixth grade party, dance pictures-- meaning full hair/makeup/costumes for girls, Jeremy's meeting, baseball-- this is just off the top of my head) isn't grouped in with the rest of the weeks events, and doesn't evoke quite as much panic.

So today I am grateful for the towel fairy. Yes folks, I have a laundry service. I put a basket of dirty towels/sheets on my porch every Monday morning, and they are returned the following day, clean and neatly folded. I usually don't even know who the fairy-of-the-week is-- they come and go without me even knowing, like true fairies. A group of wonderful angels that live in my ward just decided that I have a lot on my plate, and a towel fairy is just what I needed.

They were right! (:

PS. I went crazy today and posted a lot (even opted out of a nap to do it) so scroll on down. (:

  1. Christi,

I feel so blessed to be your sister!! We are going to have a great time in eternity when we live next door. Oh, wait - I have a lot of catching up to do if I'm going to be living where you will deserve to be. :) OK, I looked at the photos first and then read your first post. Scratch my previous request for a phone call. Sounds like you are completely booked tomorrow! Sure wish we were there to help you out.

  2. WOW - did I say WWWOOOWWW??

What a great bunch of updates - makes it hard to know where to start (do you need a license to drive that chair?) ;)

    I mean - hey - dang...you left me speechless - and that's something of a feat guys!!

Ya know - panic is often a good thing - I try to consider that a little gift from the Father - because when you harness the energy that panic gives you - well - it's just amazing what you can do! ;)

We love you guys - and wow - y'all are a Blessing on us!

    hugs - aus and co.

  3. What a wonderful service - the towel fairy. I have never heard of a ward doing that and it is a GREAT idea that I will pass on to my ward.

  5. If there is a towel fairy, do think there is a weed fairy, a homework fairy and a toilet scrubbing fairy???

  6. I remember my ward getting me diaper service (had cloth diapers then) and it was GREAT! How sweet to be towel fairies. Aren't people wonderful, and the beautiful thing is that you are blessing their lives while they bless yours.
